Sean William Scott is going to Hit Somebody

For those of you who attended the Kevin Smith panel during the San Diego Comic-Con last year might remember about him mentioning how he’s going to end up making a hockey movie called Hit Somebody once Cop Out started to make it’s theatrical run. According to the folks at Ain’t It Cool News, the popular director finally made his first big casting choice for the story.:

Smith revealed exclusively to NHL.com that Seann William Scott, who worked with Smith on “Cop Out,” will play Buddy, the title character in “Hit Somebody.” The script, based on a Warren Zevon song with lyrics by acclaimed writer Mitch Albom, is a story of a hockey enforcer who strives to score just one goal in a hockey game.

The written and directed story by Smith is floating around in pre-production, no real known date of when principal photography is expected to begin. Cop Out, which stars Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan and includes Scott, comes out in theaters this Friday under Warner Bros. Pictures.
