SDCC ’10: Update on World of Warcraft

A feature film on World of Warcraft game has been in development for a while. It was looking as if Sam Raimi would be directing the film after his departure from the Spider-Man franchise, but he is now developing a futuristic tale on Wyatt Earp. This leaves fans in the dark as to exactly what’s going on with the film.

Well, there’s good news and bad news regarding the film. It’s still in development, but don’t expect to see it anytime soon.  At Comic-con (via Cinema Blend), Blizzard Entertainment CEO Chris Metzen says the film is still in the “treatment stage”. Blizzard is still making notes,  “still feeling it out”, and “getting ducks in a row” for the project. The film has been in development for since 2006, but this could be sign they are trying to get it right.
