SDCC ’10: del Toro talks new and old projects

Our own Jason Bene is hitting Comic-Con for Killer Film and ran into Guillermo del Toro. Now, at the Con he has stated he was producing and developing a new Haunted Mansion film for Disney, but while at the Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark panel, Bene was told his next project will be in 3D, because “I liked the format.”

The reason he didn’t make The Hobbit in 3D was that “[he] felt the film needed to work together, and the 3D would’ve been distracting and wouldn’t be a good fit since Peter Jackson’s films were in 2D.”
