Submitted by Melissa Molina on January 5, 2010 – 3:08 pmNo Comment

martin-scorseseMartin Scorsese is said to have yet another project of his ready and raring to go as Collider reports that the famous director will be handling The Invention of Hugo Cabret. The Brian Selznick written book centers on orphan, clock keeper, and thief, Hugo lives in the walls of a busy Paris train station, where his survival depends on secrets and anonymity. But when his world suddenly interlocks with an eccentric, bookish girl and a bitter old man who runs a toy booth in the station, Hugo’s undercover life, and his most precious secret, are put in jeopardy. A cryptic drawing, a treasured notebook, a stolen key, a mechanical man, and a hidden message from Hugo’s dead father form the backbone of this intricate, tender, and spellbinding mystery.

Scorsese always has tons of things on the backburner, the latest of those being theb biopic Sinatra that’s in it’s development stages. Also on the slab for the director is the pilot for Boardwalk Empire, an upcoming HBO series along with the 17th century set film called Silence and another biopic called The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt. Scorsese has a lot of his plate, but now it’s just a matter of which one he’ll be handling first.
