Scorsese and De Niro teaming back up?

It appears that this little flutter of a fantasy thought could be coming true as famed director Martin Scorsese divulges to Reuters about the re-teaming. Here’s what the Raging Bull and The Departed director had to say on the topic.:

“Bob De Niro (and I) are talking about something that has to do with that world,” Scorsese told reporters after a press screening of Shutter Island, where the audience reaction was decidedly muted.

“There’s no doubt about that. We’re working on something like that, but it’s from the vantage point of older men looking back, none of this running around stuff.”

This Friday Scorsese dips his feet in the mystery thriller genre with Shutter Island, starring the talents of Leonardo DiCaprio along with Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley and Michelle Williams. The story centers on U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (DiCaprio) who is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island.
