Scherfig and Biel team up on Mob Girl
An Education director Lone Scherfig and actress Jessica Biel are getting together to make the upcoming project Mob Girl, says Pajiba. The story is based off the novel written by Teresa Carpenter and has yet to attach a writer to the project. With the kind of big names like Scherfig and Biel attached to it, that spot could quickly get filled up.
From an early age, Arlyn Brickman associated with petty and some not so petty racketeering figures, starting with her grandmother and father. Intoxicated by the glamour and flash, she made herself “indispensable” to wiseguys by running errands, carrying packages, or offering her home as a meeting place or safe haven–not to mention the dozens of mob figures with whom she slept. Before long, she vaulted from an adjunct role into the thick of bookmaking, loansharking, and drug dealing. Over a 30-year career, she had eight abortions and endured beatings, humiliations, and a brutal rape, eventually becoming a government informant and witness.
Jessica Biel last appeared on the big screen as part of the all star cast for Garry Marshall’s Valentine’s Day. Next, she will be co-starring along with Bradley Cooper and others in the big screen version of The A-Team, poised to be released June 11th.
