Scary Movie headed for a remake?

Right off the bat let’s classify this as a Rumor.

Today, the folks over at CinemaBlend have reported that their sources have revealed The Weinstein Company are in fact looking to reboot the Scary Movie franchise, with the upcoming film Scary Movie 5.  No word yet if star Anna Faris will reprise her role as Cindy Campbell, as the star has been quoted as not being in the loop as to the film’s status. It is looking to be released around the time Scream 4 is released to grab some of that film’s box office steam.
