Scarlett Johansson in Gravity

From the director of Children of Men, Alfonso Cuaron, Gravity is his newest film, a sci-fi tale about “a woman as she attempts to make her way back to earth after a satellite crash sets off a chain reaction of further crashes.” That woman will now be Scarlett Johansson, as she’ll act opposite of Robert Downey, Jr.

The film is being talked about as being wildly ambitious. The opening scene is a single shot, 20 minute sequence. More so, the FX will be a challenge for the team, as Cuaron is embarking on a film that will rival Avatar (via Collider) in terms of CG. “In short,” says Framestore, the visual FX studio behind the film, “this is a hybrid of a fully animated, photo-real feature film with a blockbusting visual effects movie.”

Look for the film in an undated 2012 release.

  1. ScarJo = My $12.

  2. Angelina Jolie shoudl play this, just how it was originally. ScarJo is great, but not for this movie and I don’t want yet another flick with her and RDJ together, that would be too much.
