Saw VII 3D gets a Release Date

Submitted by Melissa Molina on November 12, 2009 – 11:49 am3 Comments

bill1aShockTillYouDrop reports that Twisted Pictures is going right ahead with announcing the release date for Saw VII 3D. Coming out in October 22, 2010, the newest entry into the ongoing horror franchise does not come up as a surprise at all. Directing the film is Saw V helmer David Hackl with Saw VI writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dustan penning the script. Obviously Costas Mandylor is returning as Detective Hoffman along with Tobin Bell as John Kramer/Jigsaw.

Then again, if you have already seen Saw VI, you wonder how exactly they’ll be able to continue the series and in 3D no less. Then you wonder if the particular casting you stumble upon while searching around is correct, and if so how will that person play out in the new film.

What do you think? Do you believe that despite the lackluster opening weekend that Saw VI had compared to it’s previous films that the franchise should finally get the ax? Do you think there’s still more story to be told? Let us know.

Hmmm … lethal traps in 3D? Does that mean they’ll go for 4D in “Saw VIII”?

As for the box office, I think this will do better, partly because of the 3D but also because it’s doubtful another phenomenon like “Paranormal Activity” will come around and take the wind out of Jigsaw’s sails again.

i’m waiting for Saw IX: the death of a franchise…
    3-D could help, but…eh. It’s losing steam

I’ve been a big supporter of this franchise and I do believe Saw 6 wrapped up the story lines, so it should be interesting to see where they go for this.
