Sarsgaard to be new Green Lantern villain?

Submitted by Melissa Molina on January 13, 2010 – 9:35 amNo Comment

Peter Sarsgaard, who recently was seen in the Golden Globe nominated film An Education, is in the middle of negotiations to sign up to DC Comics and Warner Bros Pictures newest collaborative movie The Green Lantern. If signed on, Sarsgaard will play the role of Dr. Hector Hammond, the pathologist son of a senator who is seen as a disappointment in his father’s eyes, Heat Vision Blog reports.

Sarsgaard joins up with the cast that already includes Ryan Reynolds as the title character and Blake Lively as the newly acquired love interest, Carol Ferris. The Martin Campbell directed feature is already set to start filming in March in the New Orleans. Penned by Marc Guggenheim, Michael Green and Greg Berlanti, The Green Lantern is set to fly into theaters everywhere on June 17th, 2011.
