Sally Field to play Aunt May?
We just brought you the news of Martin Sheen being cast as Uncle Ben in the Spider-Man reboot. Now we’re hearing that Sally Field is in talks to play Aunt May! This is quite surprising as I certainly wouldn’t have pegged Field for this role, but this certainly adds more acting credibility to the project if she does join the cast.
Aunt May is of course an important character to the story, and it seems more obvious now they are doing an origins piece about Peter Parker. Field hasn’t done any major studio films for quite a some time, this might be the perfect project to launch her back.
The film is set to start shooting next month, I am sure we will get confirmation soon if she is a go with the role.
