Safe House gets a little Country
While promoting his upcoming film, Country singer Tim McGraw revealed to Coming Soon that he’s been cast in the upcoming Daniel Espinosa film, Safe House. McGraw mentioned that he took the role as to distance himself from a role so close to the Country music scene, unlike his character in his next film Country Song. It’s unknown what role McGraw will play in the film.
Ryan Reynolds (Buried, Green Lantern) and Denzel Washington (Unstoppable, Man on Fire) have already joined the cast. The film is about a CIA Agent (Reynolds) who must re-locate a criminal (Washington) to a safe house. Production is expected to get underway soon in South Africa.
Safe House is scheduled to open in February of 2012.

Tim McGraw really is carving out a nice film career for himself.
He was excellent in the film version of Friday Night Lights a few yrs ago.
Also had a nice brief appearance in Peter Berg’s The Kingdom. Plus appearing opposite Bullock in The Blind Side gave him even more visibility. As will his upcoming film Country Strong.
Taking on a film like this is smart move, want to see how he does in an action/thriller.
