Ryan Reynolds may join Washington in a Safe House

Everyone seems to want Ryan Reynolds in their movie lately. The actor’s schedule has become busy lately, so much that it’s a question if he’ll be available to star in X-Men Origins: Wolverine spin-off, Deadpool. Now, the Reynolds may be attached to yet another film.

Heat Vision Blog reports that Ryan Reynolds has emerged as the top choice to star alongside Denzel Washington in Daniel Espinosa’s (Snubba Cash) thriller, Safe House. After meeting with some pretty big names including Sam Worthington, Shia Lebeouf, Tom Hardy, Zac Efron, and James McAvoy, Espinosa chose Reynolds as the best choice. An offer hasn’t been given to Reynolds just yet, but is expected to imminently.

The story focuses on the survivor of an attack on a CIA safe house, who tries to escort a lethal prisoner (Washington) to another safe house before being killed by forces that want them dead. David Guggenheim originally worked on the script, and sold it to Universal studios back in February. Scott Stuber will be producing through Stuber Pictures, with Trevor Macy will serve as executive producer through  Intrepid Pictures. There’s no word on when production is set to begin.
