Ryan Reynolds is The Green Lantern!!

It seems the man who will soon be doing his one man show encased in a coffin in Buried, Ryan Reynolds has just landed the coveted role of The Green Lantern besting the likes of Justin Timberlake and Bradley Cooper. Â Martin Campbell the man behind Casino Royale will direct the lead the ring bearer to the big screen.
The Green Lantern is set to hit theatres worldwide June 17th 2011.

I wanted Cooper, or hope against hope, Nathan Fillion. I’m at odds with this casting.

i actually can’t see fillion at all in the role unless the film was going to be like rogen/gondry’s the green latern and become an action comedy. but between the three actors i too though cooper was more well suited. But Reynolds does seem competent enough to pull it off rather than Timberlake.

I’m at a lost: of the three, Timberlake’s the only one I know anything about (which actually might be a good thing for me since I grew up reading “The Green Lantern” comics. In fact, I used to know the pledge he used to say to activate the ring: “Through brightest day and darkest night, no evil shall excape his might…” Anyone know the rest?
