Ruzowitzky might take on Demeter

Stefan Ruzowitzky is in the middle of talks to take on The Last Voyage of the Demeter, an upcoming horror piece from Phoenix Pictures which would be marked as his first English language film if he chooses to take it. The feature centers around the ship that transported Dracula from Transylvania to London in Bram Stoker’s classic tale. In that novel, it washes up on the shores of England, tattered and broken, with one raving mad survivor (THR). The picture is penned by Bragi Schut, who’s other credits include the Nicolas Cage starring horror film Season of the Witch.

Producing is Arnold Messer, Bradley Fischer and Mike Medavoy from Phoenix Pictures. No word on when filming is expected to start. The other films that Ruzowitzky previously directed include The Counterfeiters and Anatomy.
