Rumor: James Franco wanted to bring the Wrath of the Titans

With James Cameron set to direct the sequels to Avatar next year, Warner Bros. needs to hurry up and get Jonathan Liebsman’s Clash of the Titans rolling if they’re to hold onto Sam Worthington. He’s already set to return as Perseus, with Gemma Arterton, Liam Neeson, and Ralph Fiennes reprising their roles. Now, rumor has it that James Franco (Spider-Man Trilogy, 127 Hours, and Rise of the Apes next year) and  Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) are wanted to star in the film.

According to Comic Book Movies, Franco is wanted for the role of Agenor, son of Poseidon (played by Danny Huston). Also, Bardem is rumored to replace Tamar Hassan as the God of War, Ares. The film has apparently been given a new title of Wrath of the Titans as well. No source was mentioned, so you should take this with a grain of salt.
