Rumor: Adrien Brody may be Dr. Strange
Shortly after Marvel Studios announced it would create lower budgeted films to kick off its lesser known characters, the studio then announced writers were hired for a feature film on Dr. Strange. Since then, Grey Anatomy‘s Patrick Dempsey was rumored to star in the film. Now, it seems Adrien Brody (Predators) could be signed on to play Dr. Strange.
Avengers News receives word from a source the actor is “very close” to signing a deal with Marvel. This deal would include him starring as either Ant-man or Dr. Strange. Director Edgar Wright recently stated that Ant-Man won’t appear in The Avengers, and isn’t sure if he’ll direct Ant-man after Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. So, that leaves Dr. Strange as the only choice, if true.
We know that Dr. Strange will come after The Avengers, and it’s a rather early to think about casting for that film. Marvel Studios still has Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Iron Man 3 to think about before work on the film would begin. No director has been hired to helm the project, and writers were recently hired back in late June.
