Rumor: Abrams to team up with Bong Joon-ho
J.J. Abrams has apparently added another film to his long-list of projects. He’s already about to begin production on Super 8 this fall, with Star Trek and a number of other films in the works. Now, the director is rumored to be teaming up with Korean director Bong Joon-ho (The Host) for a mystery project.
/Film reports that after a visit to Korea last year, Abrams met with Bong Joon-ho will soon be collaborating on a mystery project. Bong will be directing, with Abrams producing. There’s no news on what the film could be about, but would possibly be filming after Joon-ho finishes his next project, Snow Piercer.
Joon-ho and Abrams have proven to both be visual directors, and would be great to see what they can do together. However, if this turns out to be true, then it could be quite a few years off, and may not see this happen until 2012.

I’m watching MOTHER by Bong right now, and so far it’s amazing. I loved STAR TREK, but I don’t get caught up in the hype of the other stuff JJ has done, but this should be really good.
