Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander

Filming has begun on David Fincher’s American version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and below are two set photos of actress Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander, who was played marvelously by Noomi Rapace in the Swedish films.

Fincher’s adaptation of the Stieg Larsson’s books is scheduled for a December 21, 2011 release for the first of the ‘Millennium Trilogy’, with the others still being planned (via CS). Thoughts?
