Rob Letterman is making a Stretch

Rob Letterman, best known for his directorial work with Shark Tale and Monsters vs. Aliens, is making himself a bit more flexible as he takes the reigns on the Stretch Armstrong feature from Universal Pictures. Along with this new set of news, Get Him to the Greek writer/director Nicholas Stoller has been tapped to go and do a re-write on the script, originally penned by Steve Oedekerk, states The Wrap. Taylor Lautner is attached to the picture, set to star in the picture based on the toy created in the late seventies.

Brian Grazer and Kim Roth are producing under Imagine Entertainment with no set time for filming to start up. Stoller and Letterman have previously worked together on the adventure/comedy Gulliver’s Travels, set to be released in theaters on December 22nd. Hasbro has been in the green for awhile, a couple of their toy lines spawning into feature length films like last year’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and the Michael Bay directed Transformers movies.

I've been in love with film ever since I was a kid. The time, effort and passion that runs through a majority most film is something that's always attracted me to this field. What ended up happening with my big appetite for all things going on in the industry turned from random blurbs on Facebook to an unexpected but fun job. College student by day, movie news writer by early morning...or any time in the day and night when more news arrives. Working towards my bachelor's degree in film, what a surprise. I do other things too, like draw, write stories, maintain a social life and feed my pet dragon Lockheed. If you want to know more about me, hunt me down and just ask.
