Ritchie finds Excalibur
Guy Ritchie continues to fill up whatever free time that he has after the Sherlock Holmes sequel to direct all sorts of other pictures. This time it’s Excalibur, the Warner Bros Pictures film that is on the fast track right now due to Singer’s version being stalled thanks to his overly busy schedule, says Pajiba. Warren Ellis is currenly putting the finishing touches on his treatment of the story which could be the set script for this feature film. Ritchie is in the middle of pre-production on the Sherlock Holmes sequel, but that’s not a big deal since they’re inching closer and closer towards a set filming date. Warner Bros wants to strike while the iron is hot with this property, especially since Robert Downey Jr. abandoned Cowboys & Aliens just to reprise his role.
Another project that’s on the back burner at the moment for Ritchie is Gamekeeper. Ritchie must be in really good with Warner Bros because this is the third film I’ve mentioned that is under the same studio, which is never a bad thing. The good thing about this project is that it’s still in development, easily letting Ritchie take on the Sherlock Holmes sequel first, Excalibur second and then finish it off with Gamekeeper. Now we wonder if it’ll be done in that order.
