Riggle climbs on top of Larry Crowne

Well of course not literally, that would be a little odd. However, Rob Riggle is joining up on the cast for the Tom Hanks picture Larry Crowne. The Tom Hanks and Nia Vardalos story centers on a middle-aged man who, after losing his job, decides to reinvent himself by enrolling in college, where he catches the eye of a female professor while bonding with his fellow students (Variety).

Gary Goetzman and Hanks are producing together under the Playtone Productions banner. Riggle is now part of a cast that already includes Hanks, Julia Roberts, Taraji P. Henson and Bryan Cranston. Principal photography is already starting this month in Los Angeles with a 2011 release date from Universal Pictures.

Riggle is making his mark this summer with appearances in not only the Katherine Heigl/Ashton Kutcher action comedy Killers but also in The Other Guys and the Drew Barrymore starring picture Going the Distance.
