Raven getting her own TV series
It seems that DC is trying to compete with Marvel in not just in movie adaptations, but television series as well. CW’s Smallville is currently airing is tenth and final season leaving the slot open for DC to bring in another superhero. A live-action reboot on Wonder Woman is in the works (here), and it’s rumored that Warner Bros. is planning to reboot Batman on the small-screen (here). Now, Super Hero Hype gets word that a live-action series on Teen Titan’s Raven is in the works.
For those unfamiliar with the comics, Raven is the half-human, half-demon daughter of the demon Trigon, and has the ability to “mentally project and teleport her soul away from her body as well as make use of empathic powers to read other beings minds.”Unlike Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman, Raven is one of DC’s lesser known characters, and it would be interesting to see if she can find a mainstream audience. The show is in the early stages, and will be in the same spirit as Smallville.
