Platinum is bringing the Nightfall

Submitted by Melissa Molina on November 18, 2009 – 10:39 amNo Comment

zplatinum_nightfallVariety reports that Platinum Studios and Aurora Productions are getting together to make the big screen version of the Scott O.Brown graphic novel Nightfall. When industrious, right-wing survivalist David Paxton is sent to a tough Texas prison, he has no idea that it’s secretly run by vampires using the inmates to feed on. Now, Paxton’s one hope of escape is a desperate prison riot and an uneasy alliance with a ruthless killer named Robbart. William Stuart and Scott Mitchell Rosenberg will produce.

It looks like plenty of studios are still willing to take advantage of the vampire craze in cinema. There’s tons of vampire properties that have fluttered about, the top of that being the sequel to the hit 2008 film Twilight which is called Twilight Saga: New Moon. There is also the CW’s attempt at a vampire drama with The Vampire Diaries, HBO’s novel-turned-television-series show True Blood and the futuristic but supernatural thriller The Daybreakers coming out this January to theaters.
