Pine playing Jack Ryan?

“Star Trek” star Chris Pine might be revving up to work for the CIA in the newest reboot of a franchise making its way into theaters. The summer movie star is in talks to play the character Jack Ryan which originated from several Tom Clancy novels. If Pine takes on the role of this fictional agent, he will be the fourth actor to do so within the span of nearly two decades. Previously actors Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck all starred before the franchise faded off in the early 2000′s.

Paramount Pictures is keeping their newest star under their thumb with the possibility of him not only playing the role of Captain Kirk in another “Star Trek” film but also this latest addition. Pine at the moment is co-starring alongside Denzel Washington in the Tony Scott directed film “Unstoppable”. Earlier today the actor was reported to be in talks to starring in the D.J. Caruso film “The Art of Making Money“.
