Pierson digs into 17 Days of Winter
Academy Award winning writer Frank Pierson is being tapped to go and pen the script for the Korean war picture 17 Days of Winter. For those of you who are not entirely familiar with what Pierson has written, his credits include Dog Day Afternoon, A Star Is Born and Cool Hand Luke. Eric Brevig is already attached to direct the picture with Madmedia Entertainment latched onto it. Here’s the plot synopsis below on the film from Collider.:
17 Days of Winter is a story of personal triumph, courage and universal humanity set against the backdrop of the brutal, 17 day battle where 12,000 U.S. Marines and soldiers, known today as “The Chosin Few,” faced overwhelming odds and deadly sub-zero temperatures, while outnumbered by 120,000 Chinese troops behind enemy lines in a battle for the soul of a nation.
The film is slated to be released sometime in 2012. Brevig is currently in the middle of production on the live action and animation hybrid feature Yogi Bear, starring the voice talents of Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake. Yogi Bear comes out in theaters on December 17th from Warner Bros Pictures.
