Peter Jackson casting for The Hobbit

With all the drama surrounding The Hobbit lately, producer/possible director Peter Jackson is the only one staying optimistic. Despite losing its director, all the financial problems at MGM, and not receiving a green-light,  Jackson is reportedly looking for cast member for The Hobbit.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jackson has been meeting with Los Angeles, New York, and the U.K. for the films.

Jackson met with casting director, Victoria Burrows, to create the large, international cast the project would require. Also, that Jackson and Warner Bros. are close to coming to an agreement for him to direct The Hobbit. However, all of this is irrelevant as MGM, who holds half the rights, is still in bankruptcy. WB is negotiating with MGM to finance the films themselves, but that would require a sign-off from MGM.
