Pena and Swardson time themselves for 30 Minutes or Less
Michael Peña and Nick Swardson are signing up to be part of the cast for 30 Minutes or Less from Media Rights Capital and Columbia Pictures. They are the latest additions to a cast that includes Aziz Ansari and Danny McBride. Ruben Fleischer is directing from the script put together by Matthew Sullivan and Michael Diliberti.
“30 Minutes” revolves around a junior high history teacher (Ansari) and a pizza-delivery man who are forced to rob a bank when one of them is strapped to a bomb vest. McBride is one of the men looking to score some cash. Pena is slated to play a tatooed assassin, while Swardson (“Reno 911″) will play McBride’s best friend (THR).
Producing the comedy is Jeremy Kramer along with Ben Stiller and Stuart Cornfeld under Red Hour Films. Principal photography is slated to start sometime in the summer with a 2011 release date to hit. Peña wrapped up his roles, the first is the thriller The Good Doctor and the other being the action packed science fiction feature Battle: Los Angeles. Swardson will appear in the Tom Brady directed comedy Born to Be a Star, slated for a September 3rd release.
