Paul W.S. Anderson takes on Buck Rogers

The notorious Paul W.S. Anderson sinks his teeth into another project, this time deep within the realms of science fiction as he signs on to direct a live action feature of Buck Rogers. The Resident Evil director is already positioned to take the reigns of the picture, already expected to be shown off in over-done 3D.

Buck Rogers is the classic tale of a fighter pilot who quickly acclimates to the future and puts his skills to use defending the planet against invaders (Deadline New York). The property originated in 1928, created by Philip Francis Nowlan in the comic Amazing Stories. Ever since then, the character blossomed in popularity, eventually spawning off to not only get more comics, but Buck Rogers gained more notice on radio, film and television.

Financing the picture is Paradox Entertainment with Matt Holloway and Art Marcum penning the script. The two are best known for their written credits on Punisher: War Zone and Iron Man.
