Patrick Swayze Dies at 57

Dirty Dancing star Patrick Swayze died today after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” said a statement released this evening by his publicist Annett Wolf. Swayze announced in March 2008 that he had a deadly form of cancer.

Swayze was known for many films during his successful acting career, including Dirty Dancing, Ghost, Road House, To Wong Foo, The Outsiders and Red Dawn, among others.

Patrick Swayze was 57 years old.
