Paramount gets the Doomsday Machine

Paramount Pictures picks up The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine so it can be yet another novel that will be conjured into a feature, reports Variety. The Michael Lewis written novel is about a brilliant account—character-rich and darkly humorous—of how the U.S. economy was driven over the cliff. Producing the picture is Brad Pitt under his Plan B Entertainment company with Bennett Miller, director of Capote, is helming the feature.

Michael Lewis is quite a huge commodity within the realms of Tinseltown, especially since he wrote the novel turned Academy Award nominated picture The Blind Side. No word yet on who will be attached to the picture to star.

I've been in love with film ever since I was a kid. The time, effort and passion that runs through a majority most film is something that's always attracted me to this field. What ended up happening with my big appetite for all things going on in the industry turned from random blurbs on Facebook to an unexpected but fun job. College student by day, movie news writer by early morning...or any time in the day and night when more news arrives. Working towards my bachelor's degree in film, what a surprise. I do other things too, like draw, write stories, maintain a social life and feed my pet dragon Lockheed. If you want to know more about me, hunt me down and just ask.
