Paramount digs Gideon’s Sword
Paramount Pictures scoops up Gideon’s Sword in a monster deal made by the studio. Michael Bay’s will be producing the novel adaptation under Bay Films. This is yet another acquisition of the rights to a book that have yet to even be published. Lincoln Child and Douglas Preston co-wrote the novel set to be the first of a series, reports Variety.
There’s no real word on what the plot is about, but the only thing known is the fact that it’s a horror/thriller. Bay is also producing the science fiction tale I Am Number Four, being directed by D.J. Caruso. He is currently about to start filming Transformers 3 which is set for a July 1rst, 2011 release.
Paramount has several films they’re distributing this year, which include The Last Airbender, Dinner for Schmucks and Megamind.
