Only one more edition of Avatar to be released
It’s very common for director’s to release multiple editions of their films. After all, George Lucas has released his Star Wars Saga numerous times with a 3D release planned (here) for the next 6 years. But James Cameron’s Avatar has already been re-released earlier this year with a Collector’s Edition scheduled for November 16. This makes some feel that Cameron is trying to cheat moviegoers out of their money.
However, you need not worry as there will only be one more release of Avatar after this Collector’s Edition in November. And that’s the long-awaited 3D home release of the film. While promoting the upcoming release, Cameron revealed (via Home Media Magazine) that a 3D home release will be the final. “There’s only one more play, maybe one, two years out, and that’s 3D [Blu-ray],” he said. This new release will contain everything that missing from the re-release in April, with hours of bonus material to satisfy the fans.
