One Scene Sparks Major Interest in Black Swan
So far we haven’t heard much about the upcoming Black Swan, a psychological thriller staring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. The film is about two competing ballerinas who may turn out to be the same person. It was written by Mark Heyman from an original script by John McLaughlin, and will be directed by Darren Aronofsky.
Today, this fairly unheard-of and not-yet-made film is gaining major popularity points, after a script review was posted yesterday by Script Shadow. The scene that is getting everyone’s attention involves Portman and Kunis having sex. According the review, “not just nice sweet innocent sex either. We’re talking ecstasy-induced hungry aggressive angry sex.” Apparently the script has an interesting story but is very slow-moving. I’m guessing hearing about this scene will draw many movie-goers (read: guys) to this film.
Black Swan is in pre-production and is scheduled to be released sometime in 2010. To read the full review from Script Shadow, click here.

Love or hate his movies Darren Aronofsky has a vision when it comes to his work and fights for it despite constantly encountering roadblocks throughout which hasn’t stopped him from releasing some intriguing, surreal and acclaimed films in a short career span.
Even though he doesn’t get the actors/actresses he initially wants and ends up getting 4th-5th casting choices which ultimately turn out to be great performances on their own. Say…Mickey Rourke as of recently, or Hugh Jackman after Brad Pitt and Russell Crowe bailed on him for The Fountain.
He doesn’t need Hollywood. Looking forward to this film and many more by him.
Boing!
As much as it wanna yell “Thank you God!”, Aronofky is a great, great talent, so I expect any exploitation to be erased. He will have a reason why this scene is in the film, and we’re all happy!
It seems that this scene IS getting alot of attention for the movie, but I think you’re right, Jon, there will be more to it. Portman and Kunis are both successful actresses with great careers, I don’t think either of them would do something that gratuitous. Or at least I hope they wouldn’t. The script is intriguing, so I would hope to see that the film turns out to be more than this one scene.
