Oh no! Piranha 3-D pushed back a few months
The Weinstein Co. is now pushing back the hotly anticipated remake, Piranha 3-D, to August. LA Times reported the reasoning is for the film not to compete with Lionsgate’s Kick Ass, that was to open against it. While timing is everything in order to get a solid theatrical opening weekend, after yesterday’s awesome pics (here), horror fans feel a little saddened.
August might be a good month for it, since TWC released one of their best box office grossing films last year, Inglourious Basterds, a demographic that should be Piranha 3-D‘s. All we can now do, is wait.

KICK-ASS looks horrible, and IMO, would be no competition. August isan’t a horrible month though. I am looking forward to this!
A little birdy told me the film wasn’t shot with 3-D cameras and it’s all being done in post. There is no way they can have it ready for April 16, hence, the bump to August.
Summer is a better fit anyway.

Especially for a movie that has to do with beaches and hot people swimming in the water.
