Nottingham Casting clarified

Earlier this year word had gone out that Ridley Scott’s upcoming Nottingham adaptation would showcase Russel Crowe playin dual roles of both Robin Hood and the sherrif of nottingham.  Soon after the internet furor arose and people began questioning the logic with the plot and as to how this would actually play out on film.

Today though producer Brian Grazer have actual clarification stating : “The two role confusion is that what Robin Hood does is he sees Nottingham in battle very early in the movie and Nottingham dies. And Robin Hood takes over the identity of Nottingham. That’s how it plays out.” Grazer added that this is “an origin story”

Brian Helgeland is penning the screenplay whose previous credits include Mystic River and his oscar winning L.A. Confidential.
