Nolan tangos with Batman and Superman
This is something you don’t really expect to read, and that’s director Christopher Nolan latching himself not only onto eventually getting the third Batman movie off the ground, but also doing the same with…Superman? You heard it right folks, it appears that DC Enterprises recruited The Dark Knight helmer to help steer the now-titled Superman: Man of Steel, Superman 3.0 or whatever the hell they’re going to call it, in the right direction enough to get itself out of development hell, reports Deadline Hollywood.

At the moment Christopher’s brother Jonah Nolan is off in the deep underbelly of a random place furiously penning the script for the alleged third Batman movie with co-writer David Goyer. What Christopher will be doing with the Superman franchise is allegedly just steering it in the right direction, or so we would like to think. He’s not slated to direct the picture or anything, mind you, but I would not be surprised if Warner Bros. tried to dangle it in front of his face sooner or later.
So now were left here with quite a few questions, a couple of the most prominent ones being what exactly both stories will be about. Rumor speculates that this latest Superman movie will be a complete reboot to the entire franchise. If that’s the case, will actor Brandon Routh be asked to come back to dawn the cape, or will they go ahead and cast somebody else? Eventually all of these questions will be answered, it just is a matter of time depending on how long it takes each film to really start getting off the ground.

I hope Routh comes back as Superman. His performance was one of the many aspects I liked about “Superman Returns”(Yes, I loved that movie).
Routh was ok.. not convincing enough for me. i did love Spacey as Luthor.
The hard problem with Superman is that you can’t relate to him like you can other characters (batman, spidey, IM.etc..) unless you were adopted. Nolan could be the one to take this character and ground him into reality the way he did Batman. Being as i dont think TDK will ever be topped storywise, i will try not to have any expectations for what is currently being written.
I just hope Nolan doesn’t try and bring a realistic Superman. Or have them crossover onto a film.
Nolan has said before that his Batman films exist in their own universe, and bringing Superman would destory all the realism of his Batman films.
Superman isn’t Batman.
