No The Thing prequel for 2011?
Universal was getting into promotion mode recently, with new pics (here)Â and posters (here)Â of the upcoming prequel to the John Carpenter classic, The Thing. The film was set for April 29th, 2011 and now it’s listed as TBD. Shifting release dates is nothing new. That month was going to be really tough genre-wise anyway with Bousman’s Mother’s Day opening April 1st and Wes Craven’s Scream 4 opening April 15th. So it was going to face really tough competition, especially with Marvel’s Thor opening the week after.
There’s been no reason given why it’s TBD, but it could easily pop back on our radar once more for a 2011 date.
