No Hobbit for Hellboy

Way back, when Guillermo Del Toro was to direct the two-part epic of The Hobbit, actor Ron Pearlman, who had worked with Del Toro on Cronos, Blade II, and the Hellboy films, was rumored to play a role in the film. Now, according to Coming Soon, that’s not the case anymore. “I’m not doing [it],” Perlman said, adding with a laugh, “I think maybe that’s a scoop for you.” Peter Jackson is currently in pre-production for the film.

Ron Pearlman can be seen soon in The Season of the Witch, starring Nic Cage.

    Been a big fan of this man since I watch BEAUTY AND THE BEAST with my parents back in the 1980′s. One of the best character actors around that no one talks about. Too bad he won’t be making a visit to the Shire.

    Too bad. I thought he would have been cool as the voice of Smaug. Oh well, that still means Bill Nighy can do the voice.
