New Miramax CEO: Pulp Fiction Blu-ray a top priority
Forbes had a great chat with the new CEO of Miramax, Mike Lang. As Blu-ray said, “That would be a fitting start for this new incarnation of Miramax, as the second feature directed by Tarantino was the first movie from the studio to break the $100 million barrier at the US box office. Indeed, one of the chapters of Peter Biskind’s highly informative book Down on Dirty Pictures: Miramax Sundance and the Rise of Independent Film is titled “The House That Quentin Built,” referring to Miramax.
Pulp Fiction had been pre-announced by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment as coming out on Blu-ray in 2009, and it even went up on the Disney site with an August release date, but that never materialized.”
It’ll be interesting to see how he rivatilzes Miramax, in the wake of the Wenisteins departure. Heck, I’ll take Jackie Brown on Blu.
