New Line is rebooting their Vacation

New Line Cinema are continuing on with the Vacation series, rebooting it but not entirely like you’d expect for the company to right off the bat. Instead of completely going back to the beginning of the series and re-doing it, the story will focus on Rusty Griswold, now a grown man, who decides to take his own wife and kids on a road trip to Wally World before it closes forever (Variety). New Line hired John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to go and pen the latest chapter in the series. David Dobkin is attached to the feature working as producer, his previous credits to that sector being Fred Claus and the upcoming Jack the Giant Killer.

Chevy Chase is expected to come back to reprise his role of Clark Griswold, but more than likely as a cameo appearance. You can watch Chase along with John Cusack, Craig Robinson and others in the upcoming comedy Hot Tub Time Machine which comes out on March 26th.
