New Line and Wilson get a Hall Pass

owen_wilson1244896659Next to Bond 23, it appears that the popular topic of today concerns anything with The Farrelly Brothers attached to it. This time it’s in regards to their upcoming comedy called Hall Pass, which New Line Cinema has taken quite a lot of interest in since they picked up the film. Going hand-in-hand with the news is the addition of Owen Wilson in the starring role.

The story centers on a married couple who find themselves in a lull in their marriage and just going through the motions. The wife then gives her husband (Wilson) a “hall pass,” a free ticket to engage in extramarital encounters (THR). Another actor who’s set to be in the mix of the casting is Jason Sudeikis who’s better known for his skit work on Saturday Night Live.

Hall Pass will start initial filming in late February with a possible 2011 release date. The spec script was originally written up by Pete Jones and then was polished up by Bobby and Peter Farrelly. The Farrelly Brothers are producing the film with Bradley Thomas who’s under Conundrum Entertainment.
