New Director for the Black Lagoon

Submitted by Melissa Molina on December 15, 2009 – 11:41 amNo Comment

blacklagoonUniversal Pictures wrangled themselves up a new director to helm Creature from The Black Lagoon in the form of Carl Eric Rinsch. Coming Soon reports that not only will he be directing but Gary Ross will be penning the script as well. Ross’ previous scripts include The Tale of Desperaux and Pleasantville. Rinsch will also be helming the new picture 47 Ronin. One of the unfortunate parts is that this particular project has been up and down so much that actor Breck Eisner has jumped off ship. Eisner was originally supposed to play the Creature but now has moved onto greener acting pastures.

The other unfortunate part is that even though Ross penned the script Universal Pictures is looking at possibly re-doing the entire thing. Is it that bad? Will this end up in development hell? Only time will tell for this one.
