New 2012 behind the scenes featurette

2012, the new disaster epic from Roland Emmerich, the man with a knack for destroying everything you hold dear about the United States and now the entire world, should  be just mindless fun.  Now, whether or not the film will come to par with his previous efforts like Independence Day and Stargate is still up in the air, but that’s what’s so great about these films, just destruction on an epic scale.

With this film upping the ante considerably now destroying the entire world as opposed to a single location, the visual effects have been justifiably scaled up to include mammoth tidal waves that destroy everything in its path, as seen in the film trailer. Now the folks over at Yahoo! have a new behind the scenes featurette letting you in on how the FX was done.
