NeverEnding Story director wasn’t told about the Blu-ray
When The NeverEnding Story Blu-ray dropped on March 2nd, fans we pleased to see a well-done transfer by Warner Brothers, yet the disc was devoid of any extras. When MTV talked to Wolfgang Petersen, he told them that Warner Home Video didn’t even contact him about the film’s high-def release.
“I didn’t even know! Sometimes the studios are…it’s just unbelievable. I would have loved to get involved and work on the colors a little bit, let’s do this and let’s do that. They didn’t tell me. It’s strange.”
“I have a beautiful theater at home and I can screen it there. I have not seen it yet in Blu-ray,” says Petersen who wasn’t even given a complimentary copy of the disc, and had to have his assistant run and buy one. “I’m so anxious to see how it looks on Blu-ray.”
Odd, no?
