Natalie Portman may star in Gravity
Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity may not be in as much trouble as previously thought. The studio was worried that after Angelina Jolie passed a second offer to star as the lead, the project would fall apart. However, the studio has now found a suitable replacement for Jolie.
According to Risky Business, Natalie Portman (Black Swan) has been offered the lead in Cuaron’s film. Warner Bros. is soo sure about her casting that she won’t even have to undergo a screen-test after seeing her performance in the Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan. Portman will be reading the final script for the film later this week, and is expected to make her decision shortly.
Cuaron, Downey, and WB have tested a few stars including Scarlett Johansson and Blake Lively, but Portman will grab the role if she chooses to. Also, her salary is expected to be about half it would of cost for Angelina Jolie’s involvement. Production is expected to begin is January.
