More visits to Silent Hill

JoBlo reports that there is a high possibility that there could be a sequel to the 2006 video game adapted film Silent Hill. Special makeup effects man Paul Jones has this to say on the topic.:

“I was working on storyboards for that around the same time last year. It’s going to be pretty crazy. There’s a lot of cool stuff in there. Roger (Avary) has some awesome ideas and hopefully we’re going to bring that to fruition sometime next year.”

Roger Avary, the man just mentioned above, is the writer of the first Silent Hill movie and apparently the same for it’s sequel. No word yet on who is directing the feature, but the TriStar Pictures film is set to be released sometime in 2011. Video game adaptations have floundered within the past year but seem to be making a comeback. Not only is a Silent Hill sequel on the slab but so is the possbility of a long awaited Metal Gear Solid, a Castlevania feature and a Return to Castle Wolfenstein that is also being penned by Avary.
