Sundance Film Festival is already kicking off as we speak, and in order to get many people hyped up for some of their premieres a lot of different images and clips are spewing out all over the internet. Among those are several new pictures that have come out of Collider that show off a little bit more of the biopic The Runaways. Want to know a little more on what the story is about? Here’s the synopsis from the official website.

The film follows two friends, Joan Jett (Kristen Stewart) and Cherie Currie (Dakota Fanning), as they rise from rebellious Southern California kids to rock stars of the now legendary group that paved the way for future generations of girl bands. Joan and Cherie fall under the Svengali-like influence of rock impresario Kim Fowley, played by Michael Shannon, who turns the group into an outrageous success and a family of misfits. The film chronicles Joan and Cherie’s tumultuous relationship on and off stage, as the bands starts to break out.

The Runaways is directed by Floria Sigismondi and is set to be released under Apparition and River Road Entertainment in theaters on March 19th.:
