More actresses compete for Spider-Man’s heart
The search continues for the actresses who will be cast in the female leads of Marc Webb’s Spider-Man 3D. The studio is already going through a long list of actresses for the lead actresses, which will reportedly feature both Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy.
Emma Stone (Easy A) and Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland) just recently joined that list just recently.
Deadline Hollywood now reports that two more names to that ever-growing list. The names added were Diana Argon (Glee) and Georgina Haig (Wasted on the Young). Argon has reportedly already been screen-tested, but her availability is being questioned as she’s become popular since her appearance on TV. It’s unknown if Haig has been tested. There’s also the possibility that more will be added to the list.
One interesting thing the article mentions is that there’s unconfirmed talk about bringing Venom into the film with Phillip Seymour Hoffman in the role. While many are upset over this reboot, the one thing fans can look forward to is that Venom can be given another chance after his portrayal in Spider-Man 3. However, bringing the character in during the first film may prove to be disastrous, but that part is only a rumor right now. Webb recently mentioned that an announcement will be made soon, so we should know what’s true then.
Spider-Man 3D is scheduled to open in July of 2012.
