Mendes on for Bond 23, falls out of hold

sam-mendes-550x304It looks like even though earlier reports were saying that Bond 23 was being put on hold due to financial situations with MGM, now it’s not the case. THR reports that the project is jumping from hiatus to the fast track within a day as Away We Go director Sam Mendes climbs onboard to helm the latest feature addition to the popular franchise.

Instead of sitting on the tracks there already are murmurs of the film starting up initial filming in June of this year with a possible 2011 release date. Writing up the script is Peter Morgan along with Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. There is no word yet on what exactly the latest movie will be called, but after the last one being called Quantum of Solace, at least we know they’re getting a tad bit more creative.
